Disney’s Acquisition of 20th Century Fox

In recent years, Disney has become a mass-media supergiant, owning huge properties such as Marvel Studios, Lucasfilm, and Pixar. They have the resources to make many blockbuster films, and it shows considering that 5 out of the 10 highest grossing films have been produced by assets of Disney. There are no signs of stopping for Disney, as they have just acquired another huge media company, 20th Century Fox. Before the Disney buy-out, Fox produced critically acclaimed films such as Avatar and Titanic, which are the two highest grossing films of all time.

Disney has bought the rights to many different characters and properties with this deal, including famous Marvel characters such as the X-men and Fantastic Four. This is especially exciting for comic book fans, as many people have not been happy with the way Fox handled these franchises. Other introductions to Disney following the Fox deal are iconic pop-culture films such as Alien, Predator, Planet of The Apes, and Kingsmen. With this deal, Disney has gained many new opportunities to create even more films, and the possibilities seem almost endless when it comes to Disney.
