Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 : Yes, It’s Worth It!

The well-known Call of Duty franchise has released its new 2022 reboot of Modern Warfare 2, now officially becoming the fastest selling COD reaching up to $1 billion in sales within the first ten days!

But is this new generation Call of Duty game worth a shot? Is this game worth $70?

At first glance, the new Modern Warfare 2 has understandably caught the eye of many in the gaming community. With stunning visuals, top-notch graphics and a remastered campaign with cinematic cutscenes, Modern Warfare 2 is undoubtedly superior to the other Call of Duty games in terms of looks. But of course, it’s what’s on the inside that matters.

MW2 includes a pretty solid campaign remaster, with the return of iconic fan-favorite characters and improved graphics which allows for much more immersive gameplay. Most who have played past Modern Warfare games developed by Infinity Ward may very well find the events of the campaign to be very predictable. For those who haven’t yet experienced a Call of Duty game for themselves yet, this campaign should (for the most part) be rather enjoyable.

As for Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer, there’s been a bunch of mixed emotions floating around the community. As we near the release of the next season update, Infinity Ward has provided little to no new content for MW2’s multiplayer, with the updates main focus being on Warzone 2.0. It’s understandable though, as Infinity Ward will have an easier time drawing in new players via the Warzone 2.0 side of MW2, with there being no 70 dollar barrier in the way for Warzone players. Still, that isn’t to say MW2’s multiplayer can’t be enjoyable (especially) for those who enjoy a good fast-paced first person shooter.

Although not perfect, this game is one of the better installments of the franchise in recent years. As long as money isn’t an issue, the new 2022 reboot of Call of Duty’s Modern Warfare 2 is definitely worth a try. Otherwise, I’d recommend waiting for a sale (unless Infinity Ward decides to add more content to the paid side of the game! We’re literally paying your bills)
