Harper Lee, the author of one of America’s most famous classics, “To Kill A Mockingbird”, has died at the age of 89. Lee was born in the year 1926 in Monroeville, Alabama and had just put out her second novel “Go Set a Watchman.” She had won awards such as the Pulitzer Prize as well as the Presidential Medal Of Freedom. Publishing company HarperCollins released an official statement. The statement made by Michael Morrison, the president and publisher HarperCollins US General Books Group and Canada says, “The world knows Harper Lee was a brilliant writer but what many don’t know is that she was an extraordinary woman of great joyfulness, humility and kindness.” He later adds onto the statement saying that “She lived her life the way she wanted to—in private—surrounded by books and the people who loved her. I will always cherish the time I spent with her.”
