Man Threatens to Call ICE in Restaurant Where People Were Speaking Spanish

Recently, a man in New York yelled at an employees and a regular customer for speaking Spanish to each other. He told them to speak English in America and threatened to call ICE (U.S. immigration police force) and was screaming at the top of his lungs, being very rude saying things like, “If they have the balls to come here and live off my money, I pay for their welfare. I pay for their ability to be here. The least they can do … is speak English!”

Again, so sad this is the world today. Everyday people come to the United States for a better life simply because we present our country as loving and accepting of religious beliefs and freedom but living in the United States now seems as if you are not white and do not speak English, you are suspected as illegal or not belonging. My family is not from the United States and they work, they do what they need to do as citizens. English is not their first language and sometimes it is easier to speak your first language to those who understand and carry a conversation. So sad there are people here who are not welcoming and accepting of those who are not white and have trouble, or don’t speak english. There is no need to threaten someone that you will call ICE just because they are talking in their native language. If they contribute to society, and are not in any way bothering you. What’s the point? Those who go out of their way and make racist remarks just embarrass themselves further and yelling will get you no where.
