Recently, President Trump stated that he’s rewriting Title X. Title X is a federal grant program that provides funding for women’s health and reproductive health. The Trump administration stated that they’re rewriting Title X by enforcing a “gag rule.” A gag rule forces medical professionals to refuse any knowledge, promotion, or assistance about abortions if they want to continue receiving federal funds. Without Title X, Planned Parenthood and other organizations and clinics would lose major funding which affects not access to abortions, but also cancer screenings, STD screenings, and access to affordable birth control.
